Colorado City Photos

June 27, 1936. This state historical monument site in the 2800 block of West Pikes Peak was where the old Colorado City fort and stockade stood in which early residents sought refuge during the indian troubles of 1864 and 1868. Mrs. Hathe Hedges-Trout who was 4 when her family took her there for safety, to the right of the monument is Govenor Ed C. Johnson.
