Pikes Peak National Bank. Direct descendent of the original First National Bank of Colorado City, followed, after the area was Annexed to Colorado Springs in 1917, by the 'National Bank' then finally the Pikes Peak National Bank. This building was quite plain and with no historical architectural merit before 1976. As Old Colorado City started to prosper, the Directors fired the then President who was reluctant to make loans, even the ones guaranteed by the Small Business Administration. After the new President came in -Dennis Ritchie - the bank aggressively became involved with businesses in the commercial district, and completely rebuilt their building to fit in with the Victorian brick style of the street.
