Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad

The first Santa Fe station in Colorado Springs, built in 1887. (corner of Pikes Peak and Colorado) It was added on to 3 times, including adding a Harvey House Restaurant. It was replaced in 1917 by a red brick building that is still standing. The carriages (especially the one on the right) were owned by the hotels to take customers to and from the station. Seen behind the station and on the right is what is now the school for the deaf and blind. Luther Mcknight collection, #80-1-P469
