Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe railroad

The "new" Santa Fe station in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The train is the "Royal Scot", No. 6100, that toured Canada and the United States in 1933. It covered 11,000 miles on the railroads of the North American Continent. It was the first time that a complete train had been Sent across the Atlantic. The train stills runs excursions in England and throughout the year the "Royal Scot" runs without a stop from Carlisle to Euston (England, a suburb of London); and for nine months in the year this is the longest regular non-stop railway run made in any part of the world. Ellis collection, #93-1
