Wa-Rets and Chief Shavano, 1868. Chief Shanvano (which means "Blue Flower"), was a medicine man of the Tabeguache band. He unsuccessfully treated a child, who later died, and was killed by the childs father outside the agency store in Ouray, Utah in 1886. His son Charlie immediately shot the man.
