The Old Colorado City Historical Society, through its History Center intends to expand and develop its 'technological history gathering, research, display and presentation' capabilities.
- Extension of the wireless connectivity of adjunct computers and devices via spread spectrum wireless into the main display rooms, with CAM input, mobile and roaming on the street (for real-time
conducted multi-media 'tours' of Old Colorado City), and to nearby libraries and schools.
- Interactive input by text, or voice, by visitors, those on the Internet, or with modems and plain terminal programs, with stories, historical facts, or biographies to tell.
- Bulletin-Board type moderated roundtable discussions of historical matters.
- Touch-tone phone (keypad) access by ordinary voice phones to the same oral stories and history now on the web.
- Ordering books and gifts, joining the society, paying for online tours, by secure credit card transactions.
- Animated video displays via the net, or at walk-up terminals.
- Total digitized input, storage, access, and cross-reference research of the history of Colorado City and El Paso County from their beginnings through today, as the 'Westside' of Colorado Springs. One hundred percent representation of every place, person, event, structure, scene, and time period.
